Fragrance Is a Big No No

I used this cleanser for about 30 seconds and immediately felt a burning sensation on my cheeks and under my eyes. Maybe the high salicylic acid concentration did this, but I've used products with 2% and been fine. This cleanser has so much fragrance in its ingredients that it irritated my skin. On my forehead though, I did not feel stripped and liked the feeling.

Wanted it to work-- but not for my skin type

I was recommended this at Ulta by a lovely store assistant who said it was a miracle worker for her; glad it helped with her acne but it was the exact opposite experience for me.

I got this in the combo pack of "get over zit" with the Outsmart Acne Clarifying Treatment and the Oil and Pore Control Mattifier Broad Spectrum SPF 45...hoping that my skin (senstitive to the fragrance and other potential riskies) would benifit more than be triggered. So very very wrong.

After a couple weeks of what I consider a good trial period to adjust, my skin has developed contact dermatitis (small bumps all over where I use the product), and I have cystic pimples in the areas where I normally break out, and a couple places I don't usually break out at all.

I gave it a rest for about 2 days, and my skin definitely showed signs of healing, so I wanted to confirm one last time that it was the products and not just some hormonal changes--yup. Definitely the products. Within 2 more days we were back to bumps and zits.

I think it's crazy that they use so much fragrance in the products that are meant to help with acne-prone skin. They just smell like a flower bomb (or in the case of the cleaner, like a menthol cough drop).

If you don't have sensitive skin maybe this can help you, but do not even bother if you are sensitive to any fragrances or other typical irritants.
